Urban Mentes: Photographs to Think About

ROP student working on photo display

"Where would you go if wanted to feel content? What makes you happy?" Karen Lemon, ROP Photography Instructor at Renaissance High School, encouraged her students to ponder these questions, look closely at their world through a different lens and express their thoughts through photographs.

This body of work consists of digital photographs from twelve different Renaissance High School students. The photographs are as unique as the students and vary from beaches and abstracts to portraits. The student show is currently on display at the Second Street Café in Watsonville and will be available for viewing through December 31, 2014. The students hope that viewers will enjoy the stories the photographs tell and that each of us will learn something about ourselves because of their images.

Interested in purchasing a photograph? Copies of photographs are for sale. Contact ROP Photography Instructor Karen Lemon with the title of the image and size you desire. Proceeds will support the student artists.

After looking at the photographs, please tweet your thoughts and responses to @DragonsRHS or use the hashtag #weAreROPphoto. The students would genuinely appreciate receiving your feedback!
