COVID-19 Vaccines

Vaccines are availablE and no appointment is needed

The Santa Cruz County Office of Education and all 10 school districts, charter and private schools have partnered with Inspire Diagnostics for COVID-19 Vaccines. Inspire has been administering our COVID-19 surveillance and exposure testing since August 2021 and is equipped to provide COVID-19 primary vaccination series and boosters for students, staff and community members. Inspire Vaccine Clinics will occur at three locations. Second dose appointments will fall exactly 21 days after the first dose, at the same location. Please bring your vaccine verification card or digital card and drivers license to second shots and/or boosters.

BOOSTER DOSES: We encourage families wanting the vaccine for children 6 months through 4 years of age, to make an appointment with their primary care provider or pediatrician. Inspire will not offer the vaccine for children 6 months through 4 years of age, although it is approved by the FDA.

The new Pfizer bivalent booster is available for students/adults age 5 and older and Moderna is available for students/adults age 6 and over. Inspire will provide either Pfizer or Moderna bivalent booster.

In order to be eligible and receive the new bivalent booster, it must be at least 2 months after your last booster or primary vaccination series. In addition, if you are positive with COVID-19, the CDC recommends you wait at least 3 months or 90 days, before getting the updated booster. However, if you want the updated booster sooner, you have to be fully recovered and symptom free for at least 2 weeks.  Additional providers are offering the bivalent booster or monovalent primary vaccination series at: Safeway; CVS or Rite Aid.

Santa Cruz County Public Health is also offering COVID-19 vaccine and information as it relates to our vaccination progress and demographics.
