The Student School Board Trustee Member Academy had their final training session at the Santa Cruz County Board of Education Meeting.
This group of high school students from Santa Cruz and Monterey counties has spent the past month learning about how school boards working, gaining hands-on experiences, and in some cases preparing to step into the role of student trustees next year. Topics included the role of school boards and student trustees, Roles of the Brown Act, Robert Rules of Order, public speaking, ethics and more.
Today, students spoke to the Santa Cruz County Board of Education about their experience and their goals for amplifying the student voice in our boardrooms. Congrats to all of these incredible student leaders!
