Cabrillo dual enrollment resources are available for counselors, students, and parents. The Dual Enrollment DE eForm must be completed and approved prior to registration – so the sooner the better to get registered before classes start. Cabrillo College and Career Family Night

The Cabrillo College and Career Family Night offers access to a variety of college representatives, and workshops on financial aid, transfer, and college/family life balance.
College and Career Family Night is a chance to meet university representatives from numerous public, private, and out-of-state colleges and universities. It is also an opportunity to learn about Cabrillo College’s certificate, degree, and transfer opportunities, attend workshops, and explore various resources.
This event is free and open to the public.
The New FAFSA
As you may have heard, the FAFSA will look and feel different this year. The revamped FAFSA, which Federal Student Aid is calling the “Better FAFSA,” will expand eligibility for financial aid to many more students but also require districts and schools to change some of what they’ve done before.
One key thing to know: the FAFSA will not open on October 1 and will be delayed until sometime in December.

Nominations Open for California High School Counselor Award (Due October 31)
Each year, the California Student Aid Commission requests nominations for California high school counselors who demonstrate effectiveness serving students in preparing for and pursuing higher education. Candidates may be nominated by the district and county leadership, a fellow school counselor/teacher, a school principal, or another site administrator. The Arthur S. Marmaduke High School Counselor Award, which includes a plaque and a $1,500 check, is presented at the awardee’s high school or virtually via Zoom. The application deadline is October 31.
