Santa Cruz COE hosted a professional learning opportunity focused on Integrating Restorative Practices to Strengthen PBIS Implementation for educators and administrators across the county. We were pleased to welcome and learn from Marci Zeppegno and Dr. Peter Stoll from Humboldt COE, who enhanced our understanding of Restorative Practices and their application across all tiers of student support.
On November 28, a one-day training was conducted in South Santa Cruz County at the PVUSD District Office, with 35 participants in attendance. Following that, on November 29, another one-day training was held for North Santa Cruz County at the Santa Cruz COE, with 33 attendees. This collaborative effort, born out of Tri-County collaboration, extended its reach to San Benito COE and Monterey COE during the same week.
We express our sincere gratitude for the valuable insights and stories shared by school sites and organizations. Participants engaged in reflections on integrating restorative practices into their frameworks and demonstrated full participation, contributing to the sense of community built throughout the day.
Looking ahead to January, there will be two optional debrief sessions focusing on inclusive discipline and student voice. We appreciate the continued commitment and collaboration of all involved in this enriching learning experience.
