October is Substance Use Prevention Month

In addition to celebrating identity and inclusion, October is also a time to strengthen the health and well-being of young people through prevention and open dialogue.

In collaboration with the Health Improvement Partnership of Santa Cruz County (HIPSCC), we’re proud to share two valuable resources designed to help families start meaningful conversations about mental health and making healthy choices:

  • Let’s Talk – A guide for parents and caregivers of high school students to discuss alcohol, cannabis, vaping, and other substances.
  • Let’s Start Talking – A version tailored for parents and caregivers of middle school students.

Open, supportive communication is one of the most powerful ways to guide young people toward healthy decisions. Please help us share these free guides widely and continue fostering connection, understanding, and prevention within our community.
