CODE FOR CONGRESS: FREE CODING WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS

The Santa Cruz County Office of Education invites middle and high school students in Santa Cruz County to attend our Code for Congress workshop series.  The sessions will be held virtually on Wednesdays from September 7 to October 26, 2022 from 4:00-5:00 pm.  The free program is part of a countywide effort to promote computer science.

During the 8 weeks, students will work in teams to design a mobile app with the support of the team from the Santa Cruz COE and mentorship from local industry leaders. Students will select an app idea, develop a prototype, and then share their idea with the group. Participants will also learn techniques to help them communicate a concept, create prototypes and work within a team!  If desired, students can then submit their completed app to the Congressional App Challenge

We encourage anyone interested to join us for this FREE opportunity!
