Comprehensive High Quality IEPs: Beyond the Compliance Checklist
This session will provide support to LEAs in developing comprehensive high-quality IEPs that are responsive to student needs.
Compliance checklists check for compliance, however, checking all the right boxes on the IEP document does not ensure that the document addresses all of the student’s needs. Checklists cannot do that alone because it requires the adults around the table to understand the individual student.
High quality IEPs require data alongside the input from everyone who knows the student to ensure that all needs are
addressed.
This training will focus on how to ensure all areas of suspected disability have been evaluated and all student needs are addressed within the IEP document.
