Educator Recruitment Fair 2024

The Santa Cruz COE will be hosting its annual Educator Recruitment Fair from 9 – 11 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024. Many local school districts will be in attendance. Attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes as on-site interviews may occur.

In addition to the district meet-and-greet, California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) staff will be available virtually to provide information and answer individual questions.

Schedule of Events:

8:45 am – 9:00 am CTC will provide an overview of their Roadmap to Teaching website.

9:00 am – 11:00 am District meet-and-great

9:00 am – 11:00 am CTC will be available virtually to answer individual questions. Three break-out rooms will be available to join:

⇒ General Credential Questions

⇒ Furthering Career Development which includes, but not limited to, adding content areas, additional authorizations, and Services credentials.

⇒ Out-of-State, Out-of-County, private school experience educators.

What is the Educator Recruitment Fair?

It is an opportunity for individuals seeking classified and teaching positions in education to meet with those who hire classified staff, teachers and other certificated candidates, including psychologists, counselors, school nurses, speech language pathologists, audiologists and preschool teachers. Representatives from school districts will be available for a morning of focused interaction with candidates. This event will be held in person at the Santa Cruz County Office of Education.

Tips for success:

♦ Conduct yourself professionally at all times. 

♦ Be prepared.​ Develop a plan of action which gives you confidence and sets you apart from the crowd.

♦ If the wait to talk with a district seems long, move along to another school district. You can always come back later.

♦ Establish eye contact, introduce yourself and explain why you are interested in speaking with a recruiter.

♦ Be confident. Take an active part in your interview.
