TechGirlz & Santa Cruz COE’s You Can Code Event

The Santa Cruz County Office of Education is excited to invite 5th-8th grade students to our YOU Can Code! Event on Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 from 3:30-5:00 pm. In this workshop, students will use Blockly, a drag and drop language to interface with the memory of the computer.  We will be trying a number of puzzles, mazes and games to explore sequential events, selection and repetition.  Students will also begin to learn to code using real language with CodinGame, a free online program that allows coders at any stage to improve their coding skills by solving the World’s most challenging problems, learn new concepts, and get inspired by the best developers. After, students will be able to access these web pages and more at home to continue their learning.

Once your registration is complete you will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link to attend.

En este taller, los estudiantes usarán Blockly, un lenguaje de arrastrar y soltar para interactuar con la memoria de la computadora. Los estudiantes también comenzarán a aprender a codificar usando lenguaje real con CodinGame, un programa en línea gratuito que permite a los programadores en cualquier etapa mejorar sus habilidades de codificación resolviendo los problemas más desafiantes del mundo, aprender nuevos conceptos e inspirarse con los mejores desarrolladores. Posteriormente, los alumnos podrán acceder a estas páginas web y más en casa para continuar su aprendizaje.
