Free Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainings for Community Partners

Are you a Santa Cruz County community organization serving youth ages 12-18? Are you interested in building your and/or your team’s skills to provide immediate support to youth showing signs of mental health distress? Then you are invited to join us at any of the three upcoming trainings being offered through the Santa Cruz COE for Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)!

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches adults how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among children and adolescents ages 12-18. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
