The Tech+ Division has been working diligently to support, engage, and oversee all aspects of technology and innovation across our county. We are excited to share that 48 out of 50 students across our county representing all high school districts have received dual credit (High School and Community College) for their coursework in IT Essentials in one of four of our sections of the program. We are excited to launch a fifth section next year at SLVHS.
Our Computer Science team also facilitated our first school wide assembly at Bayview Elementary, where we instructed K-5 students in showcasing their literacy knowledge through coding. See some pictures of the event where students were able to program Beebots and micro bits in TK-2 and 3-5, respectively to retell a story.
We also have been working to develop a long-range Technology Plan focused on 8 areas of Technology & Innovation: Staffing and Tech Support, Audio/Visual, Devices for Staff and Students, Phones & Communication, School Sites Technology Support, Security and Emergency Communications, Software for Staff and Students for Productivity and Efficiency/Content Acquisition, Network and Security Infrastructure.
Our media and IT team worked through 15 Graduations to support the audio and photography at the events. We look forward to some summer projects including refreshing the Sequoia infrastructure and increasing our ability to host hybrid meetings at the COE with an integrated Zoom Room in each conference room.
