The Santa Cruz County Office of Education, in partnership with the X Academy, is thrilled to announce the launch of the new Santa Cruz COE X Academy Robotics Club.
With chapters in Santa Cruz and Watsonville, the club is available at no cost to all high school students within Santa Cruz County. Club members are able to collaboratively design and build an underwater robot, learning skills such as 3D design, coding, and laser-cutting. Participants will then be able to form a team to compete in the MATE ROV competition in spring 2024. No experience is necessary.
Recruitment is ongoing, and two open houses are scheduled this weekend in both Santa Cruz and Watsonville. Attendees will have the chance to meet with the club facilitators and experience live demonstrations of underwater robots. For more information, visit cs.santacruzcoe.org/robotics.
