Santa Cruz COE is supporting Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) as one branch of our larger Behavioral Health and Mental Health Initiatives.
With one trainer based at the COE, we were able to train 77 school staff between March 2023 and August 2023. Our larger goal is to train 500 adults across our county school community. To reach this goal, we invested in Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor training and offered this to our Districts who serve middle and high school. To that end, we officially have 10 new YMHFA Instructors who are now planning their first training within their Districts. The COE continues to support Districts who want training as well as YMHFA instructors who need technical support.
