This month, the Students in Transition Program and the FosterEd program hit the ground running with outreach and training opportunities. Staff educated parents and educators about these student populations, as well as shared educational rights and best practices essential to kick off the school year.
We were able to host a presentation to Santa Cruz City Schools Social Workers, table at Back to School Night at Mission Hill Middle School, conduct training for Bonny Doon school staff, and host two training opportunities for PVUSD office staff, registrars and administrative managers (one in-person and one virtually).
The SIT program is also planning a meeting with the SLV district homeless liaison for technical assistance and guidance on current processes. Lots of interactive work happening within our scopes!
