Special Education Update – June 2022

The Special Education Department is proud to announce the graduation of 16 Post-Senior students this year! We are so happy for them, but so sad to see them go, some of them have been with us since birth!

We have started our Extended School Year program and are pleased to say we have a high student turn out this summer. We are working on the expansion of our Chrysalis Preschool program with the Maintenance and Operations Department, growing from one classroom to two. We will be maintaining our third lower elementary program serving students with autism. As a result, we be going from fourteen classrooms this year, to fifteen next year.

We continue to work with the Human Resource Department to adequately staff our programs, and have made great strides. Our staff are looking forward to a well deserved break between ESY and the beginning of the school year, which is coming up quickly on August 10th.
