Steam Expo Invites Families to Get Hands-on With Science and Art

STEAM Expo Flyer - EnglishCommunity members of all ages are invited to attend the Santa Cruz County STEAM Expo on Saturday, March 8, an event that includes the traditional Science Fair competition alongside performances and an interactive expo with industry representatives, community partners, and hands-on activities.

The STEAM Expo takes place at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds on Saturday, March 8. The interactive expo is open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with public viewing of the Science Fair projects available from 1:30-3 p.m. and an engaging lineup of performances from 1:15-2:30 p.m.  Attendance is free, and no advance registration is required.

STEAM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Organized by the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, the STEAM Expo provides even more opportunities for students to showcase their STEAM interests and abilities of all kinds. It is also intended to foster career exploration and facilitate deeper connections between students, educators, and industry and community partners.

This year, 200 Santa Cruz County students in grades K-12 are registered to present science and engineering projects, an annual competition with award categories and opportunities for advancement to state and international science and engineering competitions.
