Youth Artist Taking Action painted both a mural and storm drain at the County Office of Education. Students met to discuss what and where they wanted to paint and collectively decided they wanted to remind everyone that everything that goes into our storm drains goes into the ocean. As you drive into the COE at 400 Encinal Street, you will notice the mural on the ground. Students came up with the idea and painted the mural as well. The hands represent what we, collectively, are able to do. The mural on the left hand side of the entrance is a collective of the different animals the students wanted to display to remind us all that there are other inhabitants on the planet – even if we can’t see them.
