Students Return to Campus

Cypress High School

Cypress High School is working hard this year to support its current students and families as well as spend some valuable planning time looking into recruitment for next year!

School Leadership Club celebrated “Club Sign-Ups Day” on campus during lunch a few weeks ago. Students had the opportunity to sign up for a variety of clubs as well as set up a table for a club they would be interested in participating in. Some of the clubs this year at Cypress:

  • Leadership
  • GSA
  • Chess Club
  • Knitting Club
  • Jewish Student Union
  • Poetry Club
  • New Digital Publications Class

Our new class has been working hard at helping promote Cypress High School by documenting what’s going on here at Cypress daily. They are adding content each day to the Cypress IG site @cypresshighschool_sc and also planning and releasing our very first Live Stream talk with student Maddie Jonker and Principal Matt Levy.

Our Volleyball team has been practicing hard and will compete in its very first matches this Friday down at Main Beach! Go Sea Otters!

Sequoia Schools

Sequoia is full of joy and celebrations for the new school year. We celebrated a year’s long journey for the completion of the mural project at Sequoia led by Monica Galvan. Dr. Faris Sabbah acknowledged the creative and artistic talents of our Sequoia students.

We ended the celebration with treats and refreshments from the Culinary Arts program. We look forward to the many years ahead of showcasing the vibrant piece that honors the Watsonville community.

Curriculum Update

We are conducting a year-long accreditation self-study through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). We have adopted a new Integrated Mathematics Program, called Reveal, which includes a strong, individualized, adaptive tutorial system.
