Tech+ Update – July 2022

The Tech+ Division has been working on several summer projects and getting ready to launch an innovative and exciting school year. We are very excited to have close to 100 Students signed up for our IT Essentials class from SLVUSD to PVUSD, including CEIBA charter school and Diamond Tech Charter School. Our teacher, Elizabeth Shaw will be taking on 4 sections in this Cabrillo College articulated course. We also partnered with Cabrillo College this summer to launch CyberSecurity Camps. These weeklong camps connected students to careers and tasks around cyber security specialists. We had close to 20 students participate and got a chance to tour and hear from a UCSC Professor of Cyber Security.

On the Computer Science front, we also launched a weeklong institute for Teachers to build capacity in implementing the K-12 Computer Science Standards. Teachers from across the County joined to be ambassadors for Computer Science.

On the statewide innovation front, we have launched our Digital Literacy year-long training. Click here for more information.

Finally, we worked closely with the Child Development Resource Center to train child care providers on using chromebooks for productivity and with their children.
