The 57th Annual County Wide Math Competition
Saturday May 4, 2024: 8:45-11:00, Aptos High School
Who Can Participate?
- Students enrolled in Santa Cruz County public and private schools, grades 5 through 8 are welcome to participate. The contest is designed to be a challenging and positive experience for interested students.
How Can Students Participate?
- Identify a Lead Teacher at your school to sign you up
- STUDENTS MUST BE REGISTERED FOR BOTH INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM TESTS
- Team Contest: 3 to 5 students in the same grade working on mathematically rich problems
- Individual Contest: each student works individually on problems
All participating schools MUST:
- Appoint a LEAD TEACHER who will register students and coordinate teacher/parent proctors who help the day of the contest. LEAD TEACHER must also serve as Reader/Grader on the day of the contest.
Prizes will be awarded Tuesday evening, May 14, for:
- Teams: 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each grade-level
- Individuals: 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each grade-level
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2023 WINNERS!
We had 150 students, grades 5-8, representing 40 teams across Santa Cruz County, compete on Saturday, May 6, at Aptos High School. All participating students received an award for participating. The top 3 finishers in each category took home a medal. In all, 54 students won a medal.
Special thanks to all the parent and teacher volunteers who helped make the event go smoothly.
