The Santa Cruz County Office of Education is excited to offer students high-quality career technical education courses for the 2024-2025 school year. All courses provide students the opportunity to explore a wide variety of industries while earning high school and potential Cabrillo College credits. The areas of industry focus include:
Fire Technology
The Fire Tech course is an introduction and understanding of fire service and operations.
Topics will include an overview of the following: firefighter selection process, career opportunities, fire chemistry and physics, fire department resources, administration, support functions, training, fire prevention, fire protection systems and equipment, emergency incident management, and operations. An emphasis will be placed on day-to-day operations, conduct, and behavior expectations.
Cyber Security & Tech Support
The Information Communications & Technology Pathways are the best place to start for students interested in any areas related to computers technology, networking, cybersecurity or programming.
Culinary Arts
Culinary Arts Pathway is designed to be an intensive cooking and culinary industry career exploration class.
With locations throughout the areas, students will learn the skills necessary to be successful in a future career in this field.
