The Santa Cruz County Office of Education’s (SCCOE) Career Technical Education Partnership (CTEP) program announced the winner of the contest to create the new program’s logo. Kevin Zavala’s design submission was chosen as the new logo taking first place and Emily Moran came in second place. They will both receive gift cards as their awards.
This new logo was created through a design contest presented to the SCCOE’s CTEP Graphic Design students. Kevin and Emily are both students at Harbor High School in Mrs. Jennifer Angelacos’ Graphic Design course. Mrs. Angelacos shared, “Kevin and Emily continue to develop excellent graphic design skills that will definitely benefit them in all of their future endeavors. The ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills that are reflected in their graphic design submissions makes me very proud.”
Students were challenged to design, create and bring to life a graphic representation of the CTEP Program from a student’s perspective. Mark Hodges, SCCOE’s Senior Director of CTEP shared, “During our team’s discussions of what our new logo should represent, we agreed that this logo should reflect the vision of our surrounding community’s youth.”
The SCCOE CTEP program would like to acknowledge and thank all of the students and staff members who participated in this contest.
