Santa Cruz COE’s Curriculum & Instruction is here to support schools and districts with Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) requirements, assessment updates, and professional learning opportunities. Below is a roadmap of important deadlines, sessions, and resources to keep your team on track (Link to summary PDF).
LCAP Approval Timeline
- Submit to Authorizer: Each LCAP must be submitted to its authorizer for review and approval.
- Post Online: Approved LCAPs must be posted prominently on the LEA’s website by October 8.
- Upload to CDE: Upload your approved LCAP in myCDEconnect between October 13–31.
- Dashboard Coordinator Role: Double-check that you are listed as your LEA’s Dashboard Coordinator to ensure you have access to upload.
LCAP Support Sessions
Our COE team will host several sessions designed to guide LEAs through the LCAP process:
- November 18 (10:00am–1:00pm at COE)
Dashboard Review, Needs Assessments, Metrics, and Partner Engagement - January 27 (10:00–11:30am via Zoom)
Mid-Year Update, Dashboard Data Review, and Eligibility for Support - March 17 (10:00am–1:00pm at COE)
2026–27 LCAP Template and Writing/Finance Team Support - April 21 (9:00am–12:00pm at COE)
LCAP Writing Workshop and Early Review Opportunities - May 6 (11:00am–12:00pm via Zoom)
Preparing for Board Approval
💡 Tip: Send your draft LCAP to the COE team early (and often!) for feedback.
Key Assessment & Accountability Dates
- CAASPP Public Release: On or before October 15, 2025
- California School Dashboard: Release scheduled for November 15, 2025
