Poetry Out Loud

Nation-wide Poetry Program

Poetry Out Loud is a nation-wide program, originally created by the National Endowment for the Arts, that encourages high school students to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance, culminating at the national finals.  Students compete for awards, scholarships, and prizes.

Santa Cruz County Competition is on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, from 4:00-6:00 PM.

County winners compete at the California Poetry Out Loud State Finals in Sacramento on March 6-7, 2022.

One student will be selected to compete at the National Finals in Washington D.C. on April 25-27, 2022.
