At the Career Advancement Charter (CAC), we are dedicated to supporting lifelong learning and empowering our community members. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Watsonville Public Library, Instituto Nacional para la Educación de los Adultos (INEA), and the Mexican Consulate to offer Plazas Comunitarias in Santa Cruz County.
What are Plazas Comunitarias?
Plazas Comunitarias is a free educational program designed to provide basic education skills in Spanish to adult learners who have immigrated from Spanish-speaking countries. These classes are an incredible opportunity for individuals to either begin or complete their elementary or secondary education in Spanish.
Why Plazas Comunitarias Matter
Education is a powerful tool for personal and professional development. By offering classes in Spanish, Plazas Comunitarias make education accessible to those who may face language barriers in traditional settings. These classes help students:
- Develop essential literacy and numeracy skills
- Prepare for high school equivalency exams (GED) in Spanish
- Gain the qualifications necessary to enroll in high school diploma programs.
